Two Weber 40 IDF’s made in Spain. One other 40 IDF body. Manufacturer unknown but not newish, cheap ass ebay carb.

Note inside of carbs have some rust. EMPI intakes have some damage where they fasten to engine?

Those will need throttle shafts replaced.

Rebuilding those carbs is GRAVY!

Replacing the throttle shafts is NOT!

The throttle shafts take massive patience. You have to dremel the butterfly screws and all of the dinged section of the shafts for removal and remove a super bitchy tiny roll pin at the accelerator pump drive flange.

After installation of the new junk, you have to peen the butterfly screws so they don't come out and get ingested by the engine.

You have to do this WITHOUT bending the new throttle shafts which is a PIA.

Any mistakes and either your throttles stick, or they drop the screws into the open intake.

Avoid carbs that require throttle shaft replacement.

I've been building carbs for decades. I've MADE throttle shaft bushings before. This type of crap is not new to me.

One ULTRA nice thing about these Webers is the fact that they don't use bushings, they use actual caged bearings, so the bearing/bushing alignment is not a problem, and they don't wear out like a bushing. They have no lubricant however and are more prone to rusting up.
