been hearing about a 914 for a while from another michael who drives a cayman.
said he had a mate also a michael, building a GT tribute. yesterday the two michaels dropped by at lunchtime. ......there are normally another two michaels at the workshop (one being a bit wonky). 4 michaels + 2 914s in the same space, first time my 914 has been within 20 feet of another 914 in about.............oh.......16 years. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() made my decade. This is my recollection of the GS' dash. That magnefying glass in front of the moving speedometer. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
My dad had one when I was a child. I used to love the going up and down feature and watching the speedometer move from the back seat. It was white with red interior like the one pictured here. One of the very few imported to Canada. Now looking at this picture taken in Ontario, could this be my dad's car? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) ![]() ![]() |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) a good number of my archi colleagues back when we first graduated got hold of a GS in the early 80s when they were still relatively newish. unfortunately all the right hand drive GS came with a ordinary circular dial dashboard. i don't know whether it was something to do with where they were manufactured which might have been in an english factory that also earlier did the RHD DS market. whatever the case we never got those ultra cool dashboards in the RHD cars. a great little car nevertheless. beautiful design and highly practicall. i think it was european car of the year in 69. way way way ahead of its time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) dashboard the aus GS got. ![]() the GSA update Is not so pretty externally. they kind of lost the plot a bit with the bumpers and stuff and lost the delicacy of the original GS. |
