When I turn either the male or female end of the speedometer angle drive the opposite end doesn't turn, they seem to be disconnected. Is this normal?

This may be the source of my dead speedometer as well. I'm waiting for the speedometer head to be returned from repair before going further. I'm wondering if removing the angle drive allows trans oil to leak out? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hissyfit.gif) |

I noticed my angle drive was leaking shortly after I had finished replacing my transmission oil and did not want to drain it so when I changed the angle drive I did as others here mentioned . If you leave the front of the car on ground and raise the rear of the car it's possible to remove the drive gear without loosing the fluid . I backed my car onto some ramps I had which gave me room to work and had a pan and rags just in case but only lost an ounce or two . it was a fairly easy job to do . I did a post on mine when I changed it here on the forum ,look for it I added pictures which might be helpful to you. Just go to search topics and enter speedometer angle drive and look for my name. Hope this helps you. |
