(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Thanks man--those extra holes was a mistake on my part--but they also turned into a blessing in disguise!

I realized after I had mounted them the first time that I had room to move the screws back and grind down the edges flush with the metal. This enabled me to use much less filler--I am using bondoglass--it has proven itself to me.

I did not bond the flares to the metal--I instead used aviation grade screws with washers and nylock nuts on the backside-I used a countersink to sink the heads below the top layer of glass-this proved to me to be immensley strong--also, I live in a region of the country where the drivers are not good--the chances of me having to remove these to do repair is too great. This has enabled me to do just that with negligible breakage of removing the flares which will expidite repair.

So with this in mind those holes actually helped me when applying the glass. So in effect they are somewhat bonded--but only for cosmetic concerns.

Make sure you mark out your outline of the flares to the fender. Then mark another line 1&1/2 inches inside this line and cut--this will give you a lip to work with. No matter how you decide to attach yours--use screws!! This will hold it in place and pull the metal out to the contour of the flare. Keep your screws as far to the inside as possible so you can grind down the edges as flush as possible--then a good couple of coats of filler and voila--

Good luck with yours! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif)
