After re-installing the cooling tin (after painting) I put the phenloic intake gasket on the head to see how the fit was going to be. The tin has 3 tabs that extend under the gasket. Is the gasket supposed to go onto the head first then the tin? When I took the intakes off, the gaskets came with them. I figure the gasket should go over the tin but wouldn't that be cause for a vacuum leak??? Here's the tabs on the tin I'm speaking of.

I found the left arrow'd tab did not interfere but the right one sure did. I cliped it and it fits fine.
Not sure how the normal way is to re-install the runners... I installed the plenum then pushed the runners into it. T'was a beotch to say the least. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif) Had to use a wee bit O' lube!!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif) .......b |
