I took my 914 to school today and everything was working fine. After school, I hop in the car and turn the key, nothing. The battery is charged, the starter works when shorted, but I cant get it to turn over using the key. The car still starts with a push start but nothing with the key. I checked all of the connections to the starter and the battery and everything is fine. Do you think that the ignition switch has gone out and if so is this an easy fix? I have other ignitions avalible, but I like that my keys work with the locks on the car. Help!!

What are the odds of two of us having the same problem on the same day??

I have not tried to short the starter, but I will this weekend.

Got in this AM, drove to work, no problems. Go to leave, turn the key and nothing. Push start, drive it home about 17 miles, no probelms. Get home, shut it off, try to restart - nothing. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mad.gif)

Thanks to all that have posted. Seems I am in the same boat.
