My Getty decks arrived today and they're beautiful. I didn't take new pictures with them on the car because they look exactly the same as the others from the outside.
However, you'll have to take a deep breath before drilling into new CF for the pins: Attached image(s) |

My wife came out into the garage for support. Deep breaths, deep breaths.... On the first set of decks, I waited weeks before I decided to drill the front for pins. On this set, they were here for less than an hour. The rear panel is rivited in the places you can see and all along the back (vertical) where you can't see. It's not an easy way to do it. I could have welded in a replacement panel in a third the time. The fabrication of the rear panel required making contruction-paper patterns (very time consuming if you want to be accurate), cutting out aluminum, bead rolling the aluminum for stiffness, welding mounting brackets to the panel (which requires aluminum welding skills and a TIG machine), covering the panels in felt, drilling over 60 carefully measured holes, leveling the panels to the car and installing all the rivits. |
