I don't know what a 3 hour trip is. Does that mean driving in circles at the local racetrack or driving I5 at 2a.m. at 95+ mph? (I just don't know WHO would do THAT! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif) )
I'm getting (WAS getting before my controller blew) on the order of 60 to 80 miles per tank at freeway speeds. I'm using old school lead acid batteries however - a 'lead sled'. Throw some serious cash in there and get some Li-ions. Range would probably be in the 300+ miles at freeway speeds. And between my new welder and the company I work for getting bought out :smiliewithdollarsignsforeyes: I'm thinking of starting a new 914 conversion from the ground up.
