what's the best way to clean a metal mesh aircleaner?

just spray it down with brake-cleaner and then wipe it down with oil ???

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/agree.gif) Clean them with the stuff, let them dry in the sun while you work on something else and then hit them with the filter oil. If they look like the ones in the pic, they are clean. You'll see the filter is more white after you clean, the red color comes from the filter oil.
