My 1.7L has been converted to carb. and not sure if I can just add a pressure reducer after the fuel pump or need a new low pressure pump.

The stock pump has a provision for "return to the tank". If you use a pressure regulator with it, get the one that also has a "return to the tank". Mallory makes one as I remember.
Otherwise, just buy a FACET pump and use a pressure regulator inline with no return to the tank. |
