Howdy - I've been lurking for quite a while hoping I would get the spark back to get my 914s back on the road, but it appears my wife is winning out with remodeling the house and my garage space is ever dwindling.
So here is my dilema and question. I have two 914s, a 71 914-4 and an original 70 914-6 that have been garaged for almost 20 years now. We also have way more cars than we need (7 at this time), and the pressure is enormous by the wife unit to eliminate cars. So if I am going to sell, I want to sell both at the same time and just not look back. I have owned both cars for almost 25 years and this will be tough. And selling won't be as much about money, as about selling to someone who is as passionate as I was when I bought them. So any advice anyone can offer about how I should go about this? I don't even know what the current value is. But I know if I sell I want to sell it all and not look back (i.e., sell both together). Its a hard thing to part with these. Any advice appreciated. PS - Posting here because my neighbor is a passionate member and folks here seem to genuinely love these cars. |

Yep, thats me. I just drove by your house a half hour ago and saw the guys working on th ewindows (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Both cars look (at least from the edge of the garage) to be in good condition. Yes I wanted the /6, but I just bought all of Burr's stuff including a 71 and a 74 and all his parts and all his tools and all his workshop stuff, so I am overwhelmed with stuff. I even ended up with various pallet racks for the spare engines etc. I've also had back ache for two weeks since I drove down to Ridgecrest to get it all. The price was impossible to say no to... So I'm not in the market, but I will certainly give the cars a once over if anyone wants. I had mentioned the /6 to B since it looked so nice. Richard |
