I drove Skline's car home, the big 1300 mile trip in a 914-4 2.0 FI........And that was enough for me. I pushed the car into the garage and sold the engine, FI, Tires, wheels and a few other 4cyl related items. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Here is a couple of shots of the progress of Scott's old car. There has been a lot done to it you will not see. I just snapped some shots last night to give a quick update on this project. So please excuse the mess around the car. I have also been working on A LOT of customer cars lately. I didn't, but Scott Kline did. He also did any hell hole repairs ect. Car didn't have much rust on it anyway. I don't have a good picture of any of it, but even the front trunk seal trouf is rust free. It's a really nice tub. Scott grabbed bondo and rust free parts from other 914's. So the rear trunk lid was red, the doors were green and the front lid was original. All I did was sand and paint the car. I am no body man. Also keep in mind this was painted in my garage. While I think the paint job kicks ass, it's no show car. There is like 6 coats of paint on there. Buff and wet sand all you want, it'll hold up. I used the good stuff too. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smoke.gif) I am nothing less than impressed by the paint. Almost no orange peel, not one run or drip. It just turned out really nice. I have the 3 pieces of sail vinyl from CAMP. Someone could re-drill holes or just grab some black side stick molding. |
