So the thread about twin plugging got me thinkin about a pair of 2.0 heads sitten on the shelf.
I was thinking of doin a little work to um.
At the least was chkin for cracks/welding if necessary
new guides mandatory
new seats ..again if necessary
cut valve and seats ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) heres the first Q: How many angles, does it matter?
CC heads ..for good measure.
Un-shroud heads? Q:What does this do/matter?
Then Porting! Big Q: How much, whos proven to provide best work, can certain changes impact (adversley) an otherwise stock motor?
Has anyone had any first hand experiance using the extrude hone process?
What about trimming the guides?
I think twin plugging couldnt hurt but the cost/complexity/ignition (again $) issues probably rule this out.
But still why not go to 10mm plugs?
What about CRYO treating them?
lastly is on top with shaft rockers ect. Q: Ratio ? roller tip?

My head (& wallet ) are startin to hurt (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

You shouldn't do the extrude hone process on a carberated engine with short manifolds like on a -4 or-6. The inside of the manifolds and heads need to have some texture on the surface to help the fuel and air mix. Smooth as a baby's butt is not always good. If it was a fuel injected engine with port injecters it would be a different story.
