i need to reconnect my clutch cable to my tranny
i know where it goes but i dont know the spacing

i have a '72 1.7

i have the haynes manual but i cant find the spacing
in the clutch adjustment part the only spacing it gives is for the spacing on the pedal side, which did not disconnect itself

the tranny side however did.
i have a '75 2.0 would the spacing be ther same?

thank for any help

Assuming the cable is good and connected to both the pedal and the control lever on the trans, you will tighten the 11mm nut on the cable end until you have 3/4" pedal travel before you feel resistance.

Another way is have somebody like McMark lay under the car and adjust the cable for you until the control lever just starts to reach the point where it can move no further.

Once it reaches that point, additional tightening will just stress the parts and stretch the cable.
