We need new network switches for our office.
The new office is wired with Cat6. I already have a few PCs with 10/100/1000 ethernet ports. I am looking to buy three 24-port managed switches with 10/100/1000 connectivity. We have about 50 PCs in the office that access two SCO Unix servers and one Linux Server , but we will be going away from the servers and the PCs will be accessing more and more web-based content via our T1 connections. What do I look for in managed 10/100/1000 switches? What are the minimum specs I am looking for to ensure fast data transfer when all 50 PCs are running? I need something rack mountable that can be linked together. I have found this for instance... http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=329 which has similar specs to this for 1/2 the price... http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/p...s=04&l=en&s=bsd I'd like to stay around $500 to $750 per switch. Thanks, Karl |
