The engine [2.0 with carbs] is now working reasonably well after a lot of work. I installed a new thermostat from PP according to instructions. I've taken it for a few runs but the thermostat hardly expands...if at all. In other words, the spring for the flaps stays pulled, and the flaps stay closed. How long should it take for the thermostat to expand...or is it defective...or am I missing something here?
Thanks |

Always test it installed in the bracket or it could over-expand and get ruined. You can test it in the car with a heat gun. And without the lower tin piece installed it may open slowly due to incorrect airflow.
