again the sacramento car makes me appreciate the general condition. some suface rust but most of the discoloration is adhesive. re an older post about not glueing in the new seal. how are you supposed to get the new one to stay in place?

I bought a new Porsche seal last year and the fit was terrible. Evidently Porsche (or their supplier) has changed the material and/or method seal is put together.
Glue would not have helped the two seals I tried since the rubber that contacted trunk when closed was full of ripples.........even after letting sit for a week with trunk closed. I located a new seal that had been on the shelf for a few years and it fit fine. Did glue in 6-8 places using only a drop of 3M as recommended by several other guys. John |
