i've been tossing the idea around of doing a engine rebuild next year and wanted to ask you guys which engine people usually use.

I have a stock 1.7L with L-jet, but I think a nice 2056 or a tad bigger would be good...

what do ya'll think?

Sincerely,
Sir-Post-Alot

Hi JetBoy..

And welcome.. And hold your horses...

Price for the work? Depends on EXACTLY what you want done to the heads and who does the work.

The first TWO machine shops listed below are guys that I would use. As they are both more detailed in their work than RIMCO.

Since you are in Riverside Cali.

You could try: John at Costa Mesa R&D (949) 631-6376 (Race Quality)

Ollies machine in Santa Ana (714) 558-7334 (High Quality)

Or good old RIMCO. (714) 549-0357
(Not me but many others use them) www.rimcovw.com

Rimco has been around forever and gets work done for less than Ollies or CM R&D.

Many swear by them.
I have seen much of their work lately.
IT ALL SUCKED. Except the case half machining.

I think it depends on how much tequilla the Rimco crew had the night before.

So there is some more data for you.

regards,
Twystd1
