HEy there, I have a question about the original streel wheels sold with the 914 pre '74.
For the later mag look I know that the backspacing number is ET40; ET40 = 914; Anything else is VW specific - I think for a standard VW wheel it would be ET26 but I haven't been able to totally confirm it. I'm about ready to just start looking at them parked on the street (so many around here...) to see. I'll let you know, but that's what I'm looking at so far for info. If anyone has the EARLY steel wheels that are not the mag look I would be interested to know what the ET number is on them or what the backspacing is. Thanks! |

Where do you find the numbers? Are they on the inside of the rim, like the Fuch's? I just checked the spare tire on my sons 70 and couldn't find any #'s on it. All I could see is a couple of T's stamped near the boalt holes (face side).
The steel rims that came on the 72 are up at the farm and I will check next time I'm up there. |
