I am reinstalling my back window after a re-paint. With the butyl kit came instructions from Dr. 914 which talks about having the engine lid removed to do the job. It also mentions reinstalling the engine lid seal before putting the engine lid back on.
I really don't want to remove the engine lid risking marring the new paint in my clumsyness. Can I install the window and rear engine seal with the lid in place and in what order?---glass then engine lid seal or visa versa? Thanks |

you can leave the engine lid on. it helps having a second pair of hands setting the window. clean the surface of the window, where it makes contact with the butyl, with isopropal alcohol.
