Great pictures guys, sorry we couldn't make the drive, we had a hiking date with my daughter and her friend.
Chris is right, my SOVREN race car is a 69 911, 2.0. The signal orange car with the steel flares is a 3.0. It is a real 914043 car, and the engine started out as an SC and it now has 10.5CR Nikasil P&Cs, E cams, 40mm Webers, MSD, and a Paul Guard Torsen diff in a sideshift box. It has Bilstein S struts and alloy calipers, slotted rotors, AJUSA sway bar. The exhaust is stock /6 heat exchangers, through a T muffler, but I just bought a stainless 2.7 RS muffler to go on soon. I also just got a pair of 8x15s Fuchs to replace the 7's on the front, which should fill out the flares a bit better. The tangerine car has 31000 miles on it. It was owned by a guy on the east coast, and when he found it it had been sitting for a long time. Automobile Atlanta did some work on it to clean it up and replaced most of the rubber, but other than a repaint in the original color it is pretty much original. I bought it without ever seeing it, but talked to people who knew it. When it arrived here it had obviously not been used for a while, and the carbs need to be rebuilt before it would run right. And the only other things I have done to it are replaced the front struts with S struts and alloy calipers (because I hated the brakes) and put retracting seat belts in it. It was great to see a good collection of cars from the area, and talk to people who obviously love these things. BTW, the Fall Finale of SOVREN runs out at Pacific Raceways in Kent this weekend (Sat 20th-Sunday 21st). Look for my signal orange 911 #901, and come by and say hi. Tony |
