My first 914 had the cable break to the front trunk latch. That was really no fun trying to open the hood with a crowbar. I ended up with a crooked hood with dimples and a ruined bumper pad and seals.
I noticed looking in the Haynes that as well as access for welding, these holes allow a way to get to the cable and hood hinge. It won't be easy, but if youv'e ever had that happen, you definately want a way to get into the trunk. Leave at least a couple open and plug with rubber caps. Huff |
