My buddy just picked up his full sized floor jack. Dang..... Now I need to buy a full sized floor jack. New or used as long as it's in good working condition. Cheaper is better than expensive. Sooner is better than later. Anyone know of any good deals???? =-)))))) Much thanks in advance. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) |

No sense starting a new topic methinks. Just bump this one...
So, I'm in the market for a hydraulic jack. My wife hands me today's Sears ad. There's a 1.5-ton aluminum/steel jack on sale for $90. I go to the Sears website to check the specs. Looks reasonable: 3.75-18.5 lift range, but it lists the material as "aluminized steel" and has a weight of 55 lbs. That seems a little heavy. The Harbor Freight aluminum jack weighs 35 lbs. Northern Tools doesn't list the weight of their Torin racing jack, but the shipping weight is only 49 lbs. Both are around $170. My guess is the Craftsman is a basic steel jack with some pieces having a sprayed on aluminum coating. Thoughts on this mystery? Thx, Skip Montanaro |
