The late alternator I got for Liz doesn't fit. It's about .5" too thick.
I'm trying to install an internally regulated alternator in a '77 engine. Anyone? I'll be in SoCal the next two days and will bring the alternator with me. If anyone has a Carrera alternator I could see, I would be appreciative. |

3 diff. depths, early fan housings, all 3 same overall dimension outside. front to back.
There is 3 different thickness ,28mm/19mm/7mm, this is measured with calipers from your shiny surface to to back side. I have cut em deeper no problem, I used a cnc mill, and a lathe (scary). oh ya grounded through harness and needs a ground wire from alt. to the engine hope this helps upper left housing is the deeep one Attached image(s) |
