Now I can get my launch on with the 11's out back but now I'm thinking a higher winding V8 with more HP and same torque.
I must be high. Maybe turbo what i have? blower? LS6? all aluminum injected aurora engine ? ideas? |

would you happen to know if there is a big weight savings going to LS6?
i can see where there could be some potential for increased handling if the engine was lighter. |

The block is supposed to be about 90lbs lighter vs a Gen 1 iron block SBC. The intake is composite, so you save some weight there. The heads are aluminum, so that's probably another 30lbs over a iron headed SBC. So there's definitely a good bit of weight on the table. IMO, no real reason to go with a real LS6, a simple cam swap in an LS1 will have you belting out a good many more ponys than an LS6 for less outlay. |
