(IMG:style_emoticons/default/MDB2.gif) I did a little recon this morning and came up with a 56 mile drive. It's a bit longer than I originally anticipated, but, WOW! It has much to offer - VERY technical, rolling hills, twisty curvy, off-camber blinds & beautiful scenery abounds!
Here is my plan, which is slightly different than posted before. MEET NOON Columbus, Indiana Northwest corner of I-65 Exit 68 (Indiana 46) There is an vacant restaurant 200 yards from the freeway between a Swifty Gas and a Denny's. DEPART 12:30pm PROMPTLY 56 mile loop (IMG:http://www.moronthrottle.com/images/Nashville%20Tour%20Map%202003%20small.jpg) We'll do a quick lap around town and enter Brown County State Park from the WEST entrance. I'll contact the park for a location Monday (look for info added here) THERE IS A FEE TO GET INTO THE PARK, but I can't remember what it is. BS SESSION & PICNIC We should arrive between 2:00 pm and 2:30pm. BS and show & shine & picnic till folks want to leave Picnic will be low key. I will provide lunch meats and buns with potato & macaroni salads and maybe some cole slaw. If anyone is coming through Indy and wants to caravan to the Columbus starting spot contact me. It takes 35 minutes to get there from my house. If anyone wants to spend the night Friday Oct 17th at my house I can make arangements to accomodate some. The guest room is spoken for, but I have a large L shaped couch in the basement that can sleep 2 more. Please post a note if you plan to attend, spend the night & if you are bringing anyone. Thanks, I hope to see you all there! |

QUOTE(seanery @ Oct 19 2003, 05:48 AM) Thanks to all who came and made this a successful event! We will do this again next fall and possibly in the spring as well. thanks for organising! sorry logistics didn't permit our attendance, but 2 new jobs == no vacation time :-( worked out for the best 'cause i still don't have the 911's ignition back together - it's gonna be a long day... we'll put it on the calendar for next year - i've always loved that part of the country and would like to get back to see it again. |
