I think I need a intermediate plate with some good but used bearings in them. These things are pressed in correct?
I'm just thinking aloud. Entertain me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) b |

Yep, pressed in. Fairly easy to replace the bearings. The hard part is removing the gear stack from the plate and then paying for the bearings (or finding good used ones).
There is probably nothing wrong with your intermediate plate. In fact you really want to keep that plate matched with the current ring/pinion setup. Otherwise you run the risk of messing up the pinion depth and creating a whole new "whine". Just replace the bearings. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) Let me know if I can help. |
