1.9 rebuild on e bay. located in so jersey. anyone come across this before?

Little security in a used engine unless you have direct first hand knowledge of the specs, use, etc.

If you are just looking for a core, it may be worth the crap-shoot on this engine. You could pick it up, take off the parts you don't need (carbs) and sell them off. Then, when you get to the bottom of things, you'll see if you have a good core or not. If you could get it for a low enough price, you risk may be minimal.
