I've owned mine since 82. When I got the car it had a broken clutch cable and the young girl owner was driving it without a clutch. I only had to replace the clutch cable and the 4th gear slider band. I paid $600 for the car and $50 for the transmission parts and drove the car until 1990 with no real problems.
I gave it to my Nephew in 1996 and he was going to restore it, took the car apart and it sat that way until 2001. I got it back by trading him a lawn mower for it. I repainted it and did a V8 conversion and had it back on the road in 6 months and have been driving it since then. |
