Had the local bug shop order a replacement coil for me. The original OEM coil still is working but I thought I'd replace it to see if that would make starting easier. Based on on conversations here I got a bosch blue. Stock 1.7 engine and (for now) no real performance driving.

The coil doesn't have any number stamped on in it but the box says:
9 224 771 008s

The only english words on the coil and box are "without resistance" I know that pertronix wants a coil with resistance around 3 ohms. I measured it (across the low voltage terminals) at just under 2 ohms (maybe 1.8). I then measured the OEM coil and got just over 2 Ohms. So assuming that my meter isn't way out of calibration, it looks like neither coil is suitable for pertronix.

Is this indeed the right coil?

Do you guys that use pertronix put an external resistor on either the bosch blue or OEM coil?
