After getting delayed for almost a year due to life, I actually started removing paint and filler today. I knew this car had been repaired but whoever did it went a little overboard, at least on the right rear quarter. It is a little rough but they filled areas that needed nothing, building up the whole panel.
The sail panel will also need some work, this is typical of project cars from what I have seen here. I also found out that the car has been painted at least three times since new. It is an L98 paint code so black would be correct, but there is the original, a black repaint, a metallic red repaint then back to black. Also the engine cover is off a white car with only one respray. I should be finishing the rotisserie this week so I can see how bad the bottom is (I am too old to do this on the floor). I know the floors need to be replaced and some work on the longs but I am not sure just how much. Wish me luck. |
