here's what i did.
removed everything from the trailing arm hole (stub axle, bearing, hub) 4 bolt hub redrilled for 5 lug got new rear bearings, freeze over night. after bearing was frozen, i was able to push it right into the trailing arm (no hammering) then i used the pull method described in the pelican howto. with the threaded bolt and two nuts pulling on the inner race and the hub together. well, the outside race on the inside came off, revealing the bb's and stuff. my question is, after i get another bearing (ouch, wallet) should i put it on the hub FIRST, then freeze the hub/bearingcover/bearing combo overnight and then just push the thing into the trailing arm. opinions? ps. following the pp article, i was able to perform this task on the driver side, its the passenger side thats giving me trouble (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif) |
