Are these two parts interchangeable?

Part No. 28 in this diagram:

and part No. 24 in this diagram:

It's easy to say "no" as they are different part numbers. However they are very close. Here's a picture of part 24 (930-424-241-00):

I need part 28 (914-424-241-02). If anybody could verify the distance from the center of the screw to the flush end I would very much appreciate it. It's about 1 7/8" on part 24.
