I read that the tie rod eye-bolt end (that goes into the steering rod) needs to be installed / aligned with a special tool or else....

I removed the old eye-bolt (right side) with steering still in car. I noted the position of the eye-bolt. It was pointed towards the rear.

That said, I really don't see much else that makes it so "special". SO.... I put the new eye-bolt in, in about the same position and made sure the "lean" is towards the back.

What I noticed when I took the old eye-bolt out, it was really hard to remove. What I notice now is that when I put the eye-bolt in, and connect the tie rod fork end, the eye bolt can easily be turned by hand - in either direction.

There is a metal cap on the eye-bolt that the bellows connects to. Is that the piece that needs to put the tourque on that eye-bolt, or am I totally hosed at this point?
