Still going through the list of things not working when I bought my 914. Today's project was wiring up the horn. It took me as far as pulling the steering wheel before grinding to a halt with confusion. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Anyone know if there's a way to still use the original copper plates on the steering column switch if I have an aftermarket wheel with an adaptor? The other two solutions I can think of would be wire it to a button/switch on the dash, or wire it to the right steering column switch so it sounds when pulled toward (so in place of the windscreen washer, which doesn't work anyway). Anyone with way more knowledge of 914 electrics have any thoughts of either of these options? Do I have to pull the entire steering column switch assembly, plus ignition switch to get to the wires that power the horn? Here's the wheel adaptor: Thanks John |
