Hello all,

Looking for a little help please. This is my second go around trying to fix this problem.

I have been adjusting my rear calipers on my '74 and I am having a problem that I can't seem to figure out. I have searched the forum and can't seem to find this problem but I am sure someone has experienced it??

I can't seem to get enough slack in the rear passenger side handbrake cable to attach it to the caliper without partially tensioning the lever on the caliper.

Does that make sense? I have to actually partially engage the handbrake lever on the caliper in order to connect the cable. Do these cables shrink??!!

pictures below show the resting position with the cable adjusted to full length, no tension.

I have adjusted the drivers side cable to relax any tension on the passenger side cable without improvement. I feel like I am missing something simple??

Any help would be appreciated!

Eric??

Thanks in advance!

Jed
