When I received a replacement wiper switch there was a small brass tab held by a small nut and bolt in the hole where the upper left screw holding the switch to the steering column would go. Since the switch I removed did not have such a tab and since the tab blocked a mounting hole I removed it. The switch without the tab did not function properly and also seemed to adversely impact the function of the turn signal switch. Since then I have read that the brass tab is needed for proper grounding. Here's my question: How in the heck do you mount the switch in the steering wheel without having the little brass tab repeatedly fall off. What should have been a quick easy job has become a never-ending saga!
