I am just about to replace my rear main seal on the engine. I bought the installer tool from GoWesty and the seal is an Elring.
My question is, what's the prevailing thought on using some sort of sealer in conjunction with the rear main seal when installing it?
Will it help or hurt? Or, will it usually not have any effect at all?
I don't want this sucker coming out again. I know what I did wrong the during the first install, which is why I purchased the installer this time. Just want to see what you fold think about using the sealer too.
