FS: 1974 Porsche 914 1.7L - reduced to $7500

The time has come to sell my 914 that I have owned for 12 years. I purchased this in 2012 from a 914 World member as a learning project for my sons and I to work on together. This has been my “seasonal dry daily driver” putting on typically 1,500 miles a year commuting to and from work. It has a clean NC title and runs and shifts smoothly (as smooth as a 914). It has always been garaged and never driven in the rain. When purchased, it had bad rust issues with the rear floor plan, lower firewall, and rear passenger suspension ear and since I don’t have those skills, I had John Forbes (Black Forest Racing) cut out and replace the floor pan, lower rear fire wall and the suspension ear (receipt attached as a photo). I instructed John to go through it and make it a safe driver, not a concourse car. John’s shop did a great job, but it took about a year to complete.
I want to thank all you on the World who’ve helped me over the years; it has been a wonderful ride. However it’s time to pass it on to the next owner. I have original shop manuals, repair books, a few boxes of parts, and some artwork that are included in the above price. I’ll continue to add photos to this posting until its sold. Please reach out to me if you have any questions.

Specifications:
1974 Body with 916 bumpers
1972 1.7L engine according to the engine code (EA035662)
Side shift transmission
Dual 40 IDF Spanish Weber carbs with hex bar linkage
Falken 195/60 R15 tires dated 2013 and 2019
8-spoke EMPI-style wheels
Dual-tip ANSA muffler

Work Done:
Black Forest Racing: body work, suspension work, installed stainless steel fuel lines in tunnel, etc. (see receipt)
Replaced Speedo drive with dual O-ring version
New electric fuel pump
Rebuilt Pedal Cluster (thanks Bruce)
New Stainless steel tunnel fuel lines and rubber fuel lines (thanks Chris)
New accelerator cable
Locks Rebuilt
Many 914Rubber parts (thanks Mark)

What does not work:
Hand brake not connected (needs Clevis pin)
Heat Exchangers not connected
Reverse light
Heater/Blower
Radio
Odometer

Body/Rust:
Body is straight with a few small dents on the trunk (where I dropped my bike on it, don’t ask)
Hell hole and longs solid.
Major structural rust repair completed (see above), a few spots of surface rust on the body but no new rust observed since I’ve owned it.

Known Leaks:
Currently no leaks but a pushrod tube had a small leak a year ago and likely needs new seals.

What is tired:
Paint (all primer shown in photos was from PO)
Interior (cracked dash, door panels, seats)
Soft brake lines (currently has old SS braided lines, I have new soft lines)
Targa Top (a few hairline cracks appearing)
Rear suspension (pretty sure the coil springs were shortened by PO)
