Does anyone know the actual input shaft diameter at the seal area?
Mine measures 21.84. I have been through 3 seals in the last 200 miles in my new to me BaT 914. I am an experienced mechanic/fabricator ex F1, INDY and IMSA. I have tried all the tricks I know and checked all failure possibilities and the only conclusion I come to is that the shaft has been ground undersize. The 3 different seals from 3 different suppliers all leaked within 10 miles (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) This car is basically near perfect in, out and under with a true 70K total miles and only 2k on an LN Engineering kit 2.3 build. Thanks in advance, Paul VDL |
