In the process of putting my /6 together, I stumbled upon this:
It turns out that I have only one of the original "white" headlight shrouds (the driver side) but that I also have some that were painted orange by a DPO (maybe not so 'D' afterall). So, for fun, I put this together: p.s. the hood is only temporary, I got a fiberglass one, à la GT, but it's not home yet. Attached image(s) |

Then my daughter walks by and suggests that I leave things that way. And I add: maybe we do a bumper to match . . .
i.e. split colour bumper, off-white and orange. And she adds: make the bumper off-white on the passenger side, the orange on the driver side, kinda "Clockwork Orange" look. The GT cars had slplit colour bumpers, as on the car on the left, below. The paintscheme would not be like any historic car, and might b a little hokey, but what do you all think ? And she adds: make the bumper off-white on the passenger side, the orange on the driver side, kinda "Clockwork Orange" look. if you're going for the retro race car look, with dzus and stickers and such, then she's spot on! i think it would look great on a retro car ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) Andy PS: however, orange, green and white would not be my first color choice ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Dan, I do know about reversing the rear. Still, thanks for the reminder.
Andy and xitspd, I hear you about the orange and green and white thing. But it's actually off-white, which might make things a little easier on the eyes. And I am going with the Dzus hood fasterers, but I was not planning on too many decals. I'll have to think about it. Photoshop anyone ? Michel |
