Let's be upfront here: I'm probably not gonna do a damn thing with mine, other than perhaps re-spray the SS rocker covers black due to a lot of crappy looking flake-off. But the PO also gave me a set of negative PORSCHE decals. Unsure about those.

Post your photos - I'm trying to decide what's a good look for my color.

I'm a fan of body-color (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) these are SS rocker panels, too

Would body-colored rockers also necessitate body-colored valances? Seems like it might look odd to do one but not the other... my car and Wayne's as examples of consistency either way.

I like body color on the valances, personally. and rockers because otherwise they kinda disappear and make the car look like it is sitting higher. I only wish my bumpers weren't body color, but that was a DAPO move, not mine. btw, the valance and rocker panels are rattle-can, but match pretty damn well.

as an answer tho, the rear valence I don't think would matter if it was black on yours, or front for that matter... to me, the black valences disappear.

I prefer black rockers on stock bodied cars -
With flares, I can go either way -
But, please stay away from the fiberglass "covers" on stock bodied cars...
They look like very cheap plastic (to me)....

I've had black painted, black in paintable undercoating (unpainted) that had nice texture. Now I have black with white negative lettering and even though the lettering is trashed and the black is faded I think I like it the best. Sorry no picture avaliable right now...

I like the raised lettering rockers. We had it on Papa Smurf when he was a stock body car - black with light blue lettering - them moved it to Huey (changed the colors).

Like the body color front bumper/valence too....

I agree with Wayne on the painted rockers. It makes the car look lower if they are body color. My rear valance is body color, but since I seem to have a habit of scraping parking curbs on the front, my front is rattle can black. I'd like it to be body color too.

Has anyone done body-colored rockers with the Porsche decal on the rocker?

To me, body-colored rockers make the car look overweight. I prefer black.

If you're going to put the stripes on the bodywork, that makes them retro.

If you put the stripes on the rockers covers, it makes it newtro.

I've been there for regular & negative sripes. Glad I took them off. Too busy & too much trouble to remove.

Keep it clean - no stripes.

Goes against my beliefs, but the monocolor pans & rockers look good (to ME) in any color. Do it to a stocker? No. Do it to a stroker? No question.

Since I am a "Newbie" I was reluctant to say that but I agree. The only time I like them painted is when the car is black

Stunning car. Definetly black like Dave said. Nice contrast with the sail vinal. Could do a satin powercoat on all your rockers and valances fairly cheap. Think they even offer texture.

I like the body colored rockers on a LOW car. On my own, which has white rockers like the paint, I have a strip of black bumpy vinyl stuff that is very similar to the roll bar treatment at the top edge of the rockers, air dam, and valence. I think it provides a visual break, and mimics the look of a 911's wide rub strip below the doors. Generally, I agree, black lower body makes any car look lower. It is done by all the builders.

I never grow tired of looking at this car. The color, the rims, the stance... It all works! I am planning on a similar stripe on mine, no matter what the color.

an eggplant car with great paint is a BEAUTIFUL thing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

I'm not big on the stripes, but they do look MUCH better on the rocker than above it.

or maybe this car is just so nice I look past it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
