To me, body-colored rockers make the car look overweight. I prefer black. --DD (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) I've seen a few cars that look good with body colored rockers, but overall, they make the body look too stocky. Black all the way. Although, I have wondered what raw carbon fiber would look like... |

I am glad this tread came up, because I am on the fence with regard to how to take mine. I think that a lot of the cars that look really good with body-colored rockers are either flared, or have benefited from "massaged" panels.
The large gap between stock rockers and fenders can break up the look and, depending on the color, make the car look very disjointed, or '80s for lack of a better term. Someone earlier mentioned a rubber strip between the panels, and I do think that helps, although I would worry the the execution could lead to rust if not done properly or monitored periodically. I have my car flared, including the rockers and valences (all steel).
The black looks great on a stock bodied car, the body color looks great on a flared car. |

I recently purchased a pair of aftermarket ABS raised letter 'PORSCHE' rockers that I found brand new. I have not yet installed them, I am still on the fence whether or not to swap them out for my factory steelies.

I thought they looked ok. they install over the metal rockers... at least mine did. |

Sorry, I have a problem with the PORSCHE lettering AND the NARP logo together. Either it's Porsche, or NARP, not both. Just MHO. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Just thinking (typing) out loud here.
1. Black rockers with tastefully done body-color pinstripe/outline at the bottom and connecting to the fender arches 2. Black rockers with perfectly matched body-color positive Porsche decal 3. Replace the rockers with deployable launchers carrying a-hole-driver-seeking missiles, a la James Bond. |

I like them painted to match myself. It shows how low to the ground our cars really are. As for my -6 car it will have the standard black rockers!!

To me, body-colored rockers make the car look overweight. I prefer black. --DD (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) All that metal painted the same color makes the 914 look "thick" in the middle. Obviously, if the car is black, it's ALL body color, but a black car avoids that "overweight" look that DD refers to. Paul |

Not if the car is flared and lowered (look at my car again and tell me it looks "fat")
