If I get another Revel 1:18 and decide to convert it into a GT, should I go with steel or FG flares?

Steel.
But you'll have to pick up that Snap On set - welder included. |

Until I read this thread, I had completely forgot that I had an old 914 model that I never finished maybe 15 or more years ago! I just dug it out of some old boxes. Looks like the first paint job failed and I started sanding on it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer3.gif) Looking at it now, I think I might leave it the way it is and mount it up on jackstands. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
That or start a restoration thread on it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) It's an Entex 1/20th scale and says Porsche 914 on the box but it has 5 lug wheels and a 6cyl in it. So it's actually 914-6...I guess thats a good enough reason to restore it. Sorry pictures are blury. ~Paul |

It does have an enhanced sense of realism with the screwed up paint...

Unfortunately, FEWC (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
but as you can see, the only true racing car is mid-engined (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I looked at Wall Mart last night, they had LOTS of 2010 Hotwheels, but could not find a 914 as of yet.
They did have a cool Triumph TR6 racecar (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

It is something I should hold on to/not build up? I am watching the stores too... I really want a hot wheel 914!! |

Yet another 914 model. A friend, Skip Page (RIP), gave me this kit years ago. The part # is 7482 for anyone who would want to check and see if it is still in production...
EDIT....I talked to Matel and they don't seem to know about the 914 being in their line up.....Hope I just got someone who couldn't find out. |

Has anyone found any of these yet?
Also, is it going to be in "Hot Wheels" or "Matchbox" packaging... Just want to make sure I'm looking in the right area of the 10,000 cars on the wall. :-) Another interesting fact... On ebay, there are a few 1:43 scale die-cast cars asking as much as $99. That means a full 1:1 car would be valued at $4,257.00. Interesting that these cars sell for the about the same whether they are pocket size or full size! The Matchbox version will be a real bargain at just $0.99! Hope it does not pull the full size cars down in value... |

Ha. I bought my friend's 4 year old a Hot Wheels set with 3 cars. I think I'll have to go back and get that Triumph so he has enough cars to do stunts with his set.
