(IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) If this is a crazy idea, somebody let me know... but has anybody given any thought to the potential teaching/informative aspects of this event?

What kind of internet connectivity do they have at the shop? Maybe a webcam (or multiple webcams), people narrating what's going on, somebody sitting at a notebook taking questions posted by those of us that can't be there and answers coming from those of you that are working on Buttercup? Video saved for posterity?

Besides this being such a great cause, it could turn into quite the learning opportunity and a chance for the rest of us to feel like we're almost there with you guys!

We don't want you to FEEL like you are there with us Betty, we want you all to ante up and join the party and actually BE THERE with us. Makes for a better time!

There is a conversation in the works for a web cam and Mike Morman said there is internet in the awesome shop we are working in.

Clay, I really hope you cn work it out with your new job. We can use another top wrench working to get this car done.

Betty can you make it? And send me a pic of your car! Check your PM! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving-girl.gif)

I really like the web cam idea (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Leave it on all day, have a portable to go around and highlight specific tasks, answer questions. Very cool.

Yes, We talked about it but we could use a couple more people to attend to help with things like this.

Anyone on the fence? The next person to commit I will sponsor your attendance including a T shirt. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

thats a great idea. been following this thread. that would really be cool to pick up on the event on line, for those who can't make it but wish they could. even if it was just a live feed.

Excellent!

I plan on setting up a hi-res low light camera and a time lapse DVR (maybe a image a minute) - so the whole build can be reviewed in a few minutes. No audio though.

I will have my laptop with webcam as well, nothing extravagant though.

Will there be wifi in the garage? Does someone want to set up a site where we can broadcast multiple webcams to?

I know that the site has Internet - whether it has wireless is another story. We will know more after the recon trip later this month. Even with Internet some folks are leary of allowing any port forwarding on the router and other outside access.

How many simultaneous sessions are allowed with Skype?

I may be at both the recon mission and the build off event. I snore like hell. I'll room with ya if I make it. I can't confirm it yet.

as it stands right now, I have paid to attend, but it does not look like I will be able to make it.

so... if someone wants to attend they can have my registration spot, and I'll buy their t-shirt, too! and if you find a riding partner, I'll shell out their registration/T-shirt too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) it's not much, but hopefully it will help get a couple more hands on deck.
