Wish we had a complete 914 to look at right about now. Well if you would have drove one! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dumbass.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) For a guy that wasn't here with or without a 914, you shoot yer mouth off pretty good! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) |

I just got home from the build site and I must say it is going to be an exciting build.
Rick Ollah and Mike Ginter are amazing and we made great progress during the recon mission and the build should hit the streets running! The engine and transaxle were delivered while we were there Saturday - just aching to be installed. Just a few VERY short weeks left. Keep an eye on this thread for an updated parts needed list! |

We just got home 30 minutes ago. Just a shade over 5 hours from here. Not bad at all. We're going to watch the end of Daytona and then look at that window chanel fuzzy piece on my 914. Now where's that picture...
Yes, see my post with the part number and price above (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Don't gimme that rolleyes crap... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) No, you said outside and these obviously aren't outside. They may be inside, but I don't' know if the fuzzy strips are the same for both in and out anyway. |

Saturday was an absolute BLAST, watching Rick, Mike and Mike make sense out of all those boxes of parts. And fire was exciting, too! Luke polished parts like crazy. This little car'll shine! A HUGE THANK YOU for everyone's time and talent on this project. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I have compiled quite a list of things that need to be done prior to the event. I will get the info posted by Tuesday evening.

Thanks for the hospitality and all the food - it was non-stop eating. Are you mailing the leftover homemade ginger snaps to Gint? See you soon! |

Oh ya! I started the lower bulkhead on fire while brazing the flapper door cable tube. That was exciting. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Rick and I looked at my car this afternoon. The part we originally asked about in this thread probably doesn't even belong to Mary's car. We can't find one like it on my car at all. Mike's (Kirmizi) pic shows the inner fuzzy. It does not have any brightwork on it and all years use the same part I believe.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) I've looked at early and late doors. That part isn't on any of them.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) I've looked at early and late doors. That part isn't on any of them. Even the little clips that hold the "fuzz" are all wrong - not used anywhere else on the car. I put this down as mystery busted! |

Not sure how this thread managed to slip half way down the second page but I'm not going to stand for it. I am looking forward to this and have a big stake in making it 620 miles in a teener in the winter. Therefore I am (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_bump.gif) ing this bitch back to the top!! Rick I don't want to edit your doc. Too many people updating a doc can be a big PITA. I bumped this thread a day or so ago for the fresh air hoses. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=70055 They are VW part numbers. Mary was going to see if she could pick these up at her trip to a VW parts establishment somewhere in Kansas (I forgot exactly where). The large tube fits from the air diverter valve into the interior. Small tube - Bug - 113-255-291-DE Large tube - Bus - 211-261-236 She also needs the lower targa seal, number 28, part #914 563 319 10. Not a show stopper, but the one she has has a major crack (almost in two pieces). As far as I know thay are still available, but I'm not sure if you have to go to Porsche or not. |

This weekend may be fruitful for me as far as finding some parts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) We shall see.
