Not to deflate anyones sail because we got caught in the same thing making a part that Porsche discontinued, but lo and behold, Porsche came out with them again and there are plenty of left and right ones now available from the factory cheap as hell (7.28 each).
Now why can't they make a new dash again???

Thanks Dr. AA.

$19 to Mikey for the set and all he does for our cars is well worth it.

The same sentiment has been said about AA I'm sure as well.

Happy New Year and Well Wishes for a Prosperous 2010!

It's good to know these are available again, I did list these at $19 a pair but to be fair with those that have signed up I will match. Most of my cost is tooling, so I need to keep my volume up to be cost effective. I will match the price, the only issue I've had is that it will be next week before I'll have the first ones as the weather has messed up our schedule.

Thanks to all that have signed up an I'll keep more new stuff coming.
Happy new year!

I sincerely appreciate what you are doing out of the goodness of your heart for the 914 Mike. (it certainly does not make money!!!) Thankfully the car is so popular that we have a following and people want to buy the parts. Too bad the Porsche company has turned away from supplying parts for the older cars in favor of new manufacturing but who is to put them down, they are because of it making more money than ever before.
The problem is what is the crazy logic they are following to discontinue a part and then bring it back like they have the rear window caps when so many other parts are more direly needed? Surely they are not dependent on the rear window caps to make them money.
I wish they would hire me to take over their 914 parts department. I could reorganize and have remade every part that would be needed the most and make the company PLENTY of money putting all of the aftermarket 914 parts suppliers (including that damn place Auto Atlanta) out of business in six months, spreading good cheer throughout the 914 community and dramatically increasing participation in the 914 restoration hobby! (of course I do not need a job, and they would NEVER resurrect the 914 parts business again at Porsche!!!!

Well I finally got these up and running. We did do something a little different, but will make for an option for those of you that want it.

We ran a mold for the plastic, and did one in heavy rubber for to see how these compare. The advantage of the rubber is that it will never become brittle. So these will begin production in 2 weeks. I'm holding these back a bit to allow for the jack straps to be able to ship with them. This way the shipping is not just for one part.

Please note there will be some variation on the pricing the rubber ones will be $19, the plastic will be $14.50 a set. I shot the plastic in white so you can tell the difference between the two.

I actually like the rubber best as it looks more like the outer scraper. It should wear just as long as the plastic, if not better.

Thanks,
Mark
