I can open this web page OK; but whenever I try to open links to other sites, I get the following message on a blank screen:
"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" Some of my favorites will not open either. This just started Monday. Any idea what going on ? Jim |

That's odd. You're apparently not getting a cached copy of 914world because you can see updates. Does this happen with other browsers too?

You may have a virus, which hijacks your browser. Run a virus scan and download Malwarebytes and do a scan.

Fricking virus....
I think he's in a position where he's blocked from locating the malawarebytes so he can't download it and run the program.... Mebbe someone can download it and send it to him in an E-mail. Have you tried safe mode? Sometimes that will let you go out and get software. Another trick- right click the toolbar on the bottom of yer screen adn open task manager. Look for a program with a strange name that is running. Many times that is the virus and you can identify it (ie get a name to search for) and stop it. Once stopped, search that name and delete the sucker and associated files. Other option is to run two hard drives with an operating system on both. One drive is master and one is slave. I do that so when things like this happen, I swap the master/slave drive positions and use the new master to troubleshoot the infected drive. Sometimes that works. Last year I had a virus that ate the operating system, prevented internet access, and locked the task manager so I couldn't see the program running. Finally got rid of the slippery devil with Malawarebytes, but the operating system was pretty toast on that drive. I was able to go in and recover all my files from the formerly infected drive. Good luck Ken |
