It is indeed fortunate that the "escorts" are cheap in your area.

I confess I have owned tail draggers for a loooong time ........ but my first two 'porsches' were 914s (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)!! I had a 1971 1.7 then a 1974 creamsicle .................. then on to a convertible 911SC with steel slant kit, then a 1984 Carrera, then a 1985 930 euro model ............... then my last tail dragger that I sold about 5 years ago was this 1997 993TT with upgraded GT2 turbos, 996TT wheels and a little more than stock boost (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ............ as of 5 years ago I am done with tail draggers! ................ my current 'porsche' is a 1973 1.7 that I will be turning into a GT replica as time allows ......... as well as another mid-engined convertible of 'italian' origins, that takes most of my time ........ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

here is a pic my last tail dragger

Does it have to run? If not, then guilty as charged . . . but I'm putting in a mid-mounted M96 3.4L, so it won't count for too long . . ..

It's actually a 1968 shell with 993 quarters- keeping most of the longhood look. It'll be built for the possible addition of a turbo, but not much else. I'm only looking for ~350 horses.

Not like the back seats in a tail dragger were worth a damn anyways....you gonna make a rear trunk to really screw with people?

Well I posted it in my blog last year.
We did buy a 80scTarga.
Just could not resist
But we also have several 914's that are running and
several rollers and parts car 914's.
914's are more fun, but the 911 is simpley different.
Everyone needs at least one.

Well, the deal fell through but has opened up another possibility. I didn't take pics of it yet but it needs work. Mostly cosmetic. I think it's a 68 or 69. Stockish 2.0 full cage, slicks. It comes with all parts needed to return it to stock as well. Right now it's pretty well stripped. But no rust and it's mechanically sound.......I think. I'm not finished bartering yet.

Had a 1977 911S Targa, a 1978 SC Targa, and now as a daily driver a 996, by far the best car I had so far (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) But I miss the 1977, the car was in great shape, no rust, always here in WA, everything stock. But most time I spend with the Bumblebee in the garage (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Pretty....did I do the graphics?

Actually no, years ago my ex-wife and I had a sign business and we did all the vinyl graphics for Hank/GT-Racing when he was in Bloomington,MN.

I still have all the files for the graphics somewhere (Flexi-cut program)

Paul

Still have the files? Would love to look and see if you have anything interesting my customers would like...

I probably have most of these on his web site
http://www.gt-racing.com/pdfs/GTR911decals.pdf

I'll have to dig deep in my pile of old 3.5" disks (been years since I even touched a 3.5" disk)

I think it's a 68 or 69.

BIG difference there, know what you're getting into.

'68 == SWB
'69 == LWB

And for completeness, I have a '71 (formerly E) Targa that's on its (slow) progression to 2,8 RSR-esque-land.
