Dear World,

Please stop making me want to put all my time and money into a stupid little ugly old car that isn't even really a Porsche.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Yours truly,
Dan

The 914 being a non real Porsche (ie a VW) is in my opinion a real plus.

VW's rule!

Dan,

Because I care, I'd be happy to help.

Just let me know when I can have the auto transport guys stop by and rid you of your scourge...

You will never feel the need to spend money or time on this car again...

... but this is just the first step, I expect that you will lapse and buy another 914, and I'll be there for you again, and again, and again, and again to ease your burden every time and take those pesky 914s off of your hands.

because I care... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I don't know why you're calling it a non-Porsche.

The badge that I put on the hood says Porsche...

Just a hood crest? :omg:

Everyone knows you need a hood crest, PORSCHE rockers, side stickers, wheel center caps, and maybe a crest on the back as well just to be safe.

Dan, Consider yourself lucky because you still drive your car. You have yet to step off the slippery slope of restoration. You have seen where I am with my car, it takes a lot of time, money, storage space for the disassembled parts, and a willingness to spend your spare time busting your knuckles and rolling around covered in filth and grit. Seek immediate help and counseling.

Eric, for the win-win optimization, McMark will step up and ship all X-19s to you from here on in. They will be shipped in stealth mode, camouflaged with all the aforementioned Porsche badging, plus the the addition of the overlooked Porsche license plate frames.

Damn those pesky universal constraints of time and space! My car is quite drivable, but between the 2- & 4- year olds, and being surrounded by Chicagoland's nearly perfect graph-paper grid of roads, I get maybe an hour of relatively boring 914 driving every 2 weeks. And a parts stash piling up with no time to work on it (or to develop the assoviated skills). Oh well, yeah, this is the blessing/curse I knew I was signing up for!
